Planned Giving

Fueling the Future for FISH

Leave a Lasting Impact

Planned giving is simply a commitment (either revocable or irrevocable) to include FISH of Sanibel-Captiva Foundation in your will, trust, or other estate plan.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss this option for you to create a legacy of impact for our island community!

TYPES OF PLANNED GIFTS

  • Bequests: Donations at death (through a will or trust) may include cash, real estate, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or other assets, including intangible ones.
  • Retirement plans: Designating the Foundation as a beneficiary of a retirement account, such as an IRA, 40(k), 403(b), pension, or profit-sharing plan.
  • Life insurance: Designating the Foundation as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy.
  • Retained life estate: Transfer of real estate to the Foundation while the donor retains use of the property for the rest of their lifetime

IDEAS FOR CREATING A LEGACY

  • Create an endowment to generate annual income that provides for the development and enhancement of designated FISH programs and activities.
  • Create an endowment to enhance FISH staff development or subsidizing the compensation for a specific position—similar to endowing a professorship at a university.
  • Name a FISH facility in honor or in memory of the donor, a loved one, or another person.

These are just a few ideas. Talk with us about other ways to create impact for the future!
