MAGGI FEINER

Presidential Endowment Fund

Securing the future of FISH

The Maggi Feiner Presidential Endowment Fund is a long-term investment in the future leadership of the organization. Named in honor of President & CEO Maggi Feiner, the fund is designed to ensure that FISH. continues to benefit from strong, stable leadership — now and for generations to come.

Feiner, a 17-year volunteer and beloved leader, has played a transformative role in FISH’s growth over the last two decades. Under her guidance, the organization expanded from a grassroots effort into a comprehensive human services agency, with initiatives including the island’s food pantry, on-staff social workers, the acquisition of a permanent facility, and critical emergency response programs.

“Maggi brings not only leadership, but passion and commitment,” said John Morse, Chair of the FISH Foundation. “This fund is about ensuring those qualities remain at the heart of FISH for the long haul.”

Though Feiner has no plans to step away anytime soon, the endowment reflects both her vision and the board’s commitment to long-term sustainability. As Maggi puts it, The purpose is consistent — we meet the ever-changing, ever-growing needs of the community.”

About Maggi Feiner

It didn’t take Maggi Feiner long to realize volunteerism flowed through her veins. “In high school, I worked as a candy striper,” which is a hospital volunteer, she recalled. “Working with patients was rewarding, and I realized then I wanted a life working with people.”

Maggi brings that passion to her role as the president and chief executive officer of FISH. She champions the positive impact of FISH while volunteering her time to make a difference. “I volunteer because I have been blessed in my life, saw our community as a whole, and wanted to assist those with needs to improve and better their lives.”

Her commitment makes the Maggi Feiner Presidential Endowment Fund possible. “Winston Churchill once said, ‘We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.’ Investing in this endowment is one way we can make a meaningful life for every person who lives or works on Sanibel and Captiva Islands.”

Support leadership that strengthens our island community.
